Final Project – 6 page magazine
I set the number of columns to 2, as this what the desired amount I wanted for the style of my magazine.
I used the blue grids (that would flash green to allow me to know when they were all aligned) to guide me on where to place the main text, the title, the pull quotes, pictures, stand firsts and the box outs.
By using the Rectangle and Ellipse frame tool I was able to create boxes that I could place images or text from word.
By going onto the A master page, I used the special character option to create page numbering. This was tricky at first and I spend at least 20 minutes working out where I was going wrong – it turns out that I had only used the frame tool once, and it needed to be used twice to create two small boxes on BOTH pages.
By using command A – then clicking the arrow up by the Aa button twice that’s shown above, I was able to make the first letter bigger at the start of each paragraph.
To print with the bleed and printer marks, I selected these options before printing.
